Beauty Inspiration: What's on my Face

Welcome to what's on my face! For the most part. Days that I have nothing to do, no where to go, I literally stay bare-faced and that's that. But for those days where I need to make an bit of effort? And feel like it? Yeah, this is the master routine I stick to. It's my way to get ready more easily! Any way to make me get ready in the morning efficiently, I'm all for it. I'm actually quite lazy too (I really am despite all the make up!) so a routine is a must for me, that way I sit down, do it, and then I'm ready for my day.

A little disclaimer: This might be a lengthy post. You're warned! I feel like I needed to say why I use each product in enough detail because it wouldn't be part of my own routine if I didn't have a reason. Hopefully if you're in need of some new every day make up products, this can be a benefit for you! So, let's get started.

1. Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer: So I first start off with some moisturizer! Before Aveeno, I never came into the habit of putting moisturizer. I didn't think I needed it. I decided to get into the habit of doing it, and thought Aveeno was something that would work for me! I had been using their Positively Radiant Make Up Removing Cleanser prior to getting this and I will tell you, it's the absolute best. It's soft, gentle and removes all my eye make up without stinging my eyes. It leaves my skin super smooth and clean. So knowing how great that was for my skin, I decided to get the moisturizer and no complaints! With the combination of the cleanser and moisturizer, I've seen my skin look radiant and smoother as a result. It also has SPF in it which I'm thankful for as it is so important to moisturize, it's equally important to keep your skin protected as well!

2. Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation in Medium Beige: Using a powdered foundation is a new one for me. Before this I had been using Maybelline's Fit Me liquid foundation and also the accompanying foundation stick by itself too. This Tarte one I really wanted to try because it seemed really efficient to use. I like it because I don't need that much, it's super quick to powder on. I have also been liking how it provides a good amount of coverage without feeling like it's too much or too cakey. Plus for me, I don't need to add a setting powder onto my face to finish the process like you would for a liquid foundation, so it's one less product for me to use.

3. Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Light: I'd been using the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, and I ran out so I got this one. As great as the Nars one was, I needed something more bank-friendly so I swooped this one up. It's a great drugstore alternative if you want a good concealer that does its job. I dab this under my eyes, bridge of nose and then use a bit of the Tarte foundation mentioned to just set it in. Then I'm good to go!

4. MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre: Although it is described as an eye shadow, it's a great eye primer. For someone who likes to wear eye shadows, eye primer is a great product to invest in because its a product that will add longevity with wearing your eye shadows. I also tend to have oily eye lids, so I'm in definite need of some long-wearing products that don't melt or crease by  mid-afternoon. Soft Ochre provides a good natural base so the eye shadows show through. Also,  because of the thick consistency, I feel like it makes the eye shadows stay put, especially with my oily eye lids. When I don't feel like going through the effort of putting on eye shadows, I still dab this on and it's great because it brighten ups my face.

5. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper: I'm someone who as much as I love liquid eye liner, I have a fear for it. I'm someone who still struggles! It's a hit or a miss. But this eye liner so far, as made me not miss that mark! It has all the things you would want in an amazing eye liner. It's not drying, it's precise, but also easy to build up if you want more of that dramatic winged effect. Most importantly, it doesn't smudge or wear out as your day goes on.

6. Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzing Powder: This is my second box of this bronzer and it's still my favourite. The art of contouring and highlighting has changed my life. It's a step I never miss out on and with this Hoola bronzer, it's the best to contour. It provides enough pigment on its own, but if you want more of a bronzed look, it's really easy to build up. And it's easy to blend out as well!

7- 8. MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle + Nars Illuminator in Copacabana: I'm combining both 7 and 8 because I use them both at the same time! I'm someone who loves shimmer and loves a super glowing highlight. You can achieve a beautiful look for each on their own, but I love the two together! I start off with adding a bit of the Nars illuminator as like a base and then I tap on some of a powdered highlighter to emphasize a bit more.  I put both products on top of my cheekbones, somewhat under the eye there, on the bridge of my nose and then just use the powder under my eyebrows! It's seriously my favourite part in doing my make up cause I see such a shimmer and fulfilled that glow I always wanted but never knew how! Until now.

9-10. Shu Uemura eyelash curler, Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Mascara, Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara: So this is the obvious. Eye lash curling then some mascara. I always tend to go back and forth with these mascaras or even combine them. I'm all for that voluminous effect on my lashes without having to wear false ones. What's not pictured above is the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer! I use that before and it does make a difference. It provides such a great base to achieve that overall length and volume. The L'oreal one as well is a great bang for your buck if you're looking for a cheaper alternative as it's super black and creates such drama as well!

11. Tarte Cosmetics Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay Blush Palette (Unavailable due to it being limited time only), Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Blush in Captivating: I'm sort of bummed that the pin up girl blush palette was limited time but I'm so happy I snatched it up when it was released. I use it so much and it each shade provides such great pigment! And it's just so pretty. An alternative that I always go to is their shade in Captivating which is a warm peach. I briefly talked about this blush in particular in a previous post too. I love it that much! This just adds such a natural, warmness to your face. It adds such a pretty glow which is why I always end up using it always.

OK, so for the most part I use all those products, and I assure you as long as those descriptions are, it really doesn't take that long to put up with! What I didn't mention or shown that I always do is my eyebrows! I simply just use a darker eye shadow, a brow brush and I'm good to go! If I'm feeling I want more, then I use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel in Brunette on its own or to add on to finish things off. Just recently I caved and bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz too, so, that's been helpful. I'm really blessed to have full brows for the most part, so it's pretty quick!

Another thing I didn't show in the photos that I use regularly are lipstick and eye shadows. The reason being is because those are the two that change on the daily depending on what I'm feeling. Kudos to you though, if you actually read all of that! If not, that's okay! I did provide some pictures! Haha, hopefully it can come across just as well! I hope you liked this little insight into my beauty world on the daily. See you in the next post!

  1. I looove that Hoola bronzer! I was so sad the other day when for SOME WEIRD REASON I completely forgot to put it on and left the house :( lol.

    1. I know what you mean, that bronzer is life! I feel so off without it now!
