Favourites: Sealed with a Kiss

It was some time ago when I remember my mom talking about all things beauty and said lipstick is a good choice to enhance and add more to your features. I remember her buying Maybelline's Park Ave. Peach for me and I instantly fell in love with it and the idea of lipstick.

I never looked back and have accumulated so many lipsticks, lip glosses... I lost count. So why not make this into a favourite post?  I won't lie I do have a lot. And there were more I haven't featured up above! But I really do have a thing for MAC lipsticks (Can you tell?) and a bit more higher end ones, I'll admit. My favourite drugstore lipsticks though? Revlon, L'oreal, Maybelline, I have a few from each brand! This time around, I think I'm going to focus on the ones I seem to gravitate towards each time and like to share why!

So here are the ones I love and have been loving a lot. I think dark colours work best with me because it tends to suit my complexion. I do love bold colours as well, as it's nice to add that nice pop to your face. But every once in a while, I do want something fresh, light, and bit more natural and so I found great lighter choices I tend to wear every day.

So there are a few things I consider when buying lipstick. First, I try to do all that I can to research and find photos of swatches, the shade on people, anything and everything online. I've made mistakes when I think the shade is super nice and whatnot, but on me? Not so good. Then I end up not using it and there goes your money! Every lipstick will look different on each person. Keep that in mind. I do research so I know what to expect. Especially on the more pricer ones!

Another thing I consider is overall pay off and finish. I love super pigmented shades because I have naturally darker shade of lips, so stand out shades are always a good thing in my book. The reason why I love MAC lipsticks and have accumulated so many is because of the pigment, finish, and how creamy they are. Yes, even their Matte finishes! I'm always a bit hesitant to purchase matte lipsticks in general because I tend to have dry lips. Matte finishes tend to emphasize how dry my lips are and ugh, it's the worst! However, MAC's Matte finishes are all so easy to put up with. They glide on easily, they are creamy, and really pigmented! So that's why I love them. The two from Bobbi Brown's Creamy Matte Lip Colour collection is the same! Matte, creamy and not drying at all.

Overall, I'm such a lipstick girl, that without it I feel so off and weird without some sort of colour on my face. It's the one thing I know I never forget when leaving the house! So much so, I end up having so many in my bag when the week is over. Do you have any ultimate lipsticks you never can part with? I probably will end up purchasing more and more, but until then I'll leave you with this. See you in the next post!
