Favourites: Tidbits for Fall

The cooler weather has arrived, and lately I haven't been shopping that much....But I might have splurged here and there on some pieces that I feel would transition well into the Fall/Winter and I'm here to share some of them with you all! So I decided to quickly take a snap of the things I'm excited about and said why not do a short post? I know the pictures may not be as clear. But I think it goes to show how black is still the new black and how much I'm a lipstick gal. Some of them have been featured on my instagram, so for more of that, you can follow me there! So some of my essentials?
1) Wilfred Mixed Stripes Blanket - OK, I think we all need a big ol' blanket scarf to get us through the cooler, even freezing weather! Why not do a two-in-one and have a blanket as a scarf?! Best thing ever. It's super cute, stylish, and warm! And I just LOVE big scarves that I can quickly wrap myself in and quickly go. I have this one now, and I do have the Diamond Mosaic Blanket scarf too. I see a collection coming.
2) ABENASIEN flats - I know for the fall, we must be prepared for boots and all that, but in September, maybe early October? I feel like it's still okay to get away with flats. These ones are super cute, comfortable and because they're black - they go with everything! Plus the ballerina details add a bit of something more than your standard flat. Obsessed.
3) A good wool hat. This hat is from Mendocino and after such a long search, I found a black hat! It'll be versatile and be one of those pieces for the cooler weather when I feel blah, this will add a bit of something fun to a casual outfit.
4) Mac Lipsticks & Benefit's Rockateur blush. The Mac lipsticks featured are: Rebel, Russian Red, and Chatterbox! And when it comes to Fall, you know it's all about the darker lip. Rebel is a great choice for those darker days, and I feel like playing with a bold red lip is fun too! Chatterbox is one you might not necessarily associate Fall with? But, I think a nice playful pink is a nice choice for the cooler weather because it definitely adds something fresh and bright to pair with all the layering and bundled attire. The blush from Benefit is actually a nice rose-gold that is a bit more light compared to my other bold blushes I have. It adds such a nice flush that I'm excited to wear in the Fall.

And there we have it! Part haul, part favourites, a bit of everything. I'm looking forward to wearing these items on the daily and hope you're all having, had a great day! Hope you all have a great weekend too! Until then!

Mood Board: Falling for You

Happy September! This post is getting me so excited because as much as I love the Summer nights and wearing dresses the sunshine brings, I'm more fond of what Fall has to offer. The coats and cardigans, the knits, scarves, tights, all that layering! Even more importantly, the pumpkin spiced lattes, all that tea sipping, and crunch the leaves bring as you walk! The type of weather you could probably still pull off wearing flats with your leather jacket and skinny jeans....I could go on, but it's indeed my absolute favourite! I'm pretty thankful I live in an area where the weather changes dramatically every year, because it brings excitement each time when it does come around.

My last post that was like this was the mood board titled A Romantic Touch showcasing images that inspire me in the Summer time. This time? Of course, it's all Fall-related. There are lots of images I've been collecting and seeing - which all can be found all across Pinterest, re-pinned of course. These images certainly inspired me to dress for the cooler weather, and I'm hoping it gives you some excitement in your step as you leave your door to venture out what you have to do! So, enjoy the mini pic spam below as I pretend to devour this pretend pumpkin spiced latte, as I haven't had one just yet.

Bonus: Princess Mia

Every time we do an outfit post, there’s always a good amount of pictures to choose from. This I am extremely thankful for my girl, Mary, who loves to take multiple shots of every kind! I’m maybe, sort of, picky with photos that I’m in… I think we can all relate right? So as soon as I found out Mary likes to take more than a couple of pictures, we became much more of a dream team. So, there’s always a bunch of outtakes or leftovers from each individual outfit posted thus far, which leads me to this post…

From the last post, The Secret Garden, there were a couple more candids we took that I really wanted to post here because my little monster of a princess, Mia, is in them. These were taken in my room, and they were too good to pass up. So why not share? So down below are some extra shots that Mary got to take, and it turned out great. Mia's definitely a model... When she feels like it, haha. In case you missed it, I did do an official room tour on the blog a couple of months ago! If you want an in-depth look, you can definitely check it out here! Or if you did see it and would like to see it again, I’m not gonna stop you. ;)

Mood Board: A Romantic Touch

I've always been a fan of mood boards, and I wanted to do a series of them on the blog to showcase how I get inspired on a more general level when I feel like it. Truthfully, what sparked this sudden urge to make this post happen are those Britney Spears photos from her 2001 photo shoot with Rolling Stone magazine, which you'll see soon down below.

I wanted to show why I love Summer because it seemed most fitting since we are in the middle of July. So as soon as I remembered Britney did this shoot way back, I immediately got the motivation to put it together because they summarized everything I want in a Summer. Plus they're pretty nostalgic, I was such a Britney stan. These photos of her are gorgeous and probably remain my favourite of hers.... Ever? Probably.

I've collected images that were posted on Pinterest and some others of celebrity photo shoots that have been my favourites for some time, and importantly, fitted this theme. Pictures of Girls Generation's/SNSD and Vanessa Hudgens to be more specific. I seem to have this tendency to liking to such shoots where it seems effortless, natural and hold simplicity.

So sit back and relax, as I show you hints or romance, greenery, florals, and pretty whites that I've curated together! It's what pulls me through the Summer....Because the scorching heat is certainly not one of them.

Wardrobe Inspiration: Jamie Chung

Jamie Chung is someone who I think is gorgeous and so on point with her styling choices. She first appeared on reality tv with The Real World: San Diego. I never got into any of the Real World seasons myself, but I do know of the MTV show, and remember hearing she gained fame from that and then pursued to do acting! She's done a great job. You might recognize her from Sucker Punch, The Hangover II, and as Mulan from ABC's Once Upon A Time, to name a few. It was probably when doing promotion for Sucker Punch, I truly took notice of her and her style. From what I've seen, she likes to mix up comfort and style. She also has a way of incorporating prints into her outfits as well. By this time, I think it's fact that I'm a lover of all styles printed!

Speaking of her style, Jamie herself, also has a blog filled with her outfits, travels, and all that pretty jazz! Here though, I've rounded up with some of my favourite outfits she's worn. Some on the red carpet, some off. If you still love what you see down with the spam, I suggest you take a peek onto her blog and stare at her outfits, because she dresses so well! Such a fan!

Favourites: Blushed

Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in Flamingo / Maybelline Color Elixir in Breathtaking Apricot / Naked's Flushed in Native / Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Captivating / Sigma Brush F10 Powder/Blush

I never used to be someone who relied on face make-up then, and I'm so happy that I found the beauty in them now. They truly enhance your features and it's just so gorgeous. Blush, a bit of bronzer/ highlight and of course lipstick really give me that confidence for tackling my day. Much needed when you feel like a exhausted zombie in the morning. It goes a long way. They are those products that truly look better as your day goes on. It'll meld into this beautiful, dewy glow. It's especially perfect Summer days and nights when you want to achieve that sun-kissed look. Here are some products that I've been loving lately and it's usually a go-to.

I think my favourites hands down, is the Naked Flushed palette and Tarte's blush! For Naked, it's a 3 in 1. Enough said. It's compact and small enough for you to bring on the go. I especially love the highlighter in this one. A little goes a long way with it because it's simply that bright and pigmented. The blush too, adds such a nice pop of colour on the cheeks. Tarte's, on the other hand, is more of a warm peach, and it's so pretty. It doesn't feel like there's so much on, nor does it distract when you do have more of a heavy eye look? It's super perfect for a winged eye though!

What are your favourites? I feel like there's always more to add. It's a bit concerning realizing how much lipsticks I have, so I only put one for this one. Ha.

On another note, HAPPY CANADA DAY! I'm inside with the beautiful AC powered on, drinking my Iced Capp and eating my donut from Tim Horton's. I thought it would be fitting.

Favourites: Clothes Encounters + Hey Claire

I love YouTube. I love it because I can spend endless amounts of time watching whatever I please and always find myself feeling inspired. The two beautiful ladies above, are two reasons why I get so excited to watch videos on there. I am subscribed to many fashion/beauty gurus, and I gotta say, these two though are my top favourites! I can't hide it. It makes my day when I see one of their vids in my subscriptions. And knowing they're tight just made it simple for me to post about them two together, because why not? So, today we're going to break down my admiration for Jenn Im from Clothes Encounters and Claire Marshall from HeyClaire, and share the love. Ya ready?

Wardrobe Inspiration: Emma Stone

I love Emma Stone. She's everything I would want to be, really. She's beautiful, funny, talented, stylish.... You get it. I can also break down a list of videos as to why she's so lovely and hilarious off-screen as well. Firstly while promoting The Amazing Spiderman 2, she cried when Mel B (aka Scary Spice) from the Spice Girls sent her a message via video, here, following this, where Mel C (aka Sporty Spice) skyped with her. Finally this prank involving, you guessed it, the Spice Girls. Can we also focus on Andrew Garfield's entire reaction there though? The best. She's the ultimate fangirl, even showing her hidden talent demonstrating she memorized each of the Spice Girls' autographs. I mean!!!  What made me love these was that there was still a huge, deep excitement for her as a fan. And I feel like I'm not alone feeling these type of fangirl feelings! We're not alone! I think the biggest of them all, that was pretty damn awesome, was her lip-sync battle (Yes, lip-sync) with Jimmy Fallon. And I can't handle it. Amazing. What I love about her is that she isn't afraid to be herself and doesn't take herself too seriously. And for that, I love her! I'm definitely an Emma Stone fangirl. Let's be bff's, Emma.

Now that I provided you with extensive evidence as to why she's such an awesome gal, what I also want to share (and really, the point of this post, haha) is that her style choices have been just as great! She goes bold with colours, prints, textures, and sigh. I love it all. She does have her signature looks though. You'll see in her down time below, she likes to stay minimal and casual. On the red carpet, there's always a different look. No outfit, really, is the same. She experiments and it's always great looking forward to what she wears next. And for that, I'm inspired from those style choices she wears. Here's another lengthy pic spam of my favourites she's worn on and off the red carpet, that I take cue from when developing my sense of style.

Wardrobe Inspiration: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's style game is so strong, I want to cry. Why? Because I would like to own all the pieces in her closet and magically let it appear in mine. I even dedicated a pinterest board for her because she's that much of a style inspiration for me. She has that romantic-feminine, preppy feel that I love in her style of dressing. She loves her dresses, she loves her oxfords and cardigans, but she also likes to keep it minimal too. Something I feel like I'm becoming more and more into. Down below are some of the many pictures I've chosen as to some that I love and get inspiration from.

Wardrobe Inspiration: Let's Play Dress Up

Dresses, skirts, shorts, and rompers are a must when it comes to the warmer weather. They're pretty much an essential. And lately, more like always, I've been in a pretty dresses kind of mood. I used to never wear dresses, always somehow disliked them. And now I don't know what I was thinking because, not only do you look so put together and chic, but also it takes you what? a second to slip on? I mean I love dressing up and getting ready, but I also can be very lazy! Any shortcut to make me get ready quickly, you'll find me using it. Whenever I'm bored, I like to browse and window-shop online which is dangerous I know, but I love it because it makes me inspired to try different styles, experiment, but also most importantly makes me cry because I'm broke as hell.

I was on the Anthropologie website and I was so in awe and actually so sad that I've compiled a spam-worthy amount of dresses/rompers that I wish were in my closet right now. A girl can dream right?

I also left links and the names of each dress, because I am into how brands creatively name their designs, in case you wanted to see more of the details. But also left links so you can cry with me too.

Wardrobe Inspiration: Black and Whites

1. Emma Watson 2. Emma Stone 3. Shailene Woodley 4. Shay Mitchell 5. Jamie Chung
1. Aldo: Servana 2. Forever 21: Nautical Wedge Sandals 3. Aldo: Trelli

The way I try to provide content for this blog is when I strongly see a repetition with the styles I like. If I notice some sort common theme with the pictures I like, reblog on Tumblr, maybe pin on Pinterest, or literally creepily go "Oooooooh. I want it" out loud might I add... That's where I go, I think I should blog about it!

So lately, I have been on an all white and black combo phase. It's the trend that doesn't seem to fade and such a classic go-to. There's something easy and chic about the two colours, separate or together, bring. For me, I think it's also the fact that you can always match and be versatile with such colours. My most recent purchases are either black, white, striped, you get the gist. I can't help it! You can add more to the canvas or stay minimalist with the look. Up above, I picked some of my favourite looks recently from ladies whose style I've admired for some time! So gorgeous and so put together.

The shoes on the other hand are my weakness. I think shoes in those two colours add something cool to an outfit. Did that make sense? Something really attractive. Sure, red pumps always look killer but sometimes red restricts you from wearing more with it because it is such a bold colour. (This is also why I love this colour combo in attire, because you can pair it with bold shoes and tada! Like Emma Stone did with yellow pumps above!) I also seem to have a wedge, ankle strap obsession going on too. I'm short, I like added height! And wedges are comfier than the standard heel, let's be real. I do have the black Aldo Trelli's which are divine, and just recently purchased the Aldo Servana's online, which I've been eying on since Jenn Im from Clothes Encounters mentioned they were from Aldo! I can't wait to wear them and pair it off with jeans or skirts. I'm ready for you, Spring season.
